So....a new season starts this Saturday? Any thoughts on how the team will do this year with the new acquisitions?

I think that they will do well this year, at least make the playoffs. The addition of Dwayne De Rosario, Adrian Serioux and Pablo Vitti will definetly make an impact.

I've never been to a game, but everyone tells me it's a great event to take in. I guess I won't get the chance to see Beckham play in Toronto... :-(

Did anyone watch the new expansion team Seattle Sounders FC play the New York Red Bulls last night? They looked pretty impressive....3-0 win in there first ever game. They had 32,523 people at the game. Looks like they might give Toronto fans a run for there money. The Sounders have this 21-year old kid named Fredy Montero who scored 2 goals and 1 assist yesterday. Can't wait for Saturday.....

GREAT game on Saturday. TFC finally winning there opening game and it was an away win! The score was 3-2 but could have easily been 5-2. 2 goals by Guevara and another from Brennan. The team looks a lot better moving forward. De Rosario looks like a great addition to the club. Still a couple questions in the central defence but Serioux played well. He's gonna need some experienced support beside him though. Overall I thought they played well and am excited to see them against Columbus on Saturday.

Looks like we will be missing to guys for this Saturday due to international duty. Amado Guevara will be playing for Honduras and Carl Robinson with Wales. At least it's not as much as last year when it seeemed like half the team was gone. A key point is that Columbus is also missing some key players in Frankie Hejduk, Alejandro Moreno and Duncan Oughton. Carver hinted that Pablo Vitti will get the nod to start up front.

Not a bad game on Saturday. TFC with an away tie, 1-1 to the defending champions Columbus Crew. HUGE turn out for TFC fans....almost felt like they were playing at home. Columbus scored on a penalty shot for a handling offense which I personally thought should not have been called. Toronto had majority of the ball possession but couldn't really create any changes in the final 3rd of the field. They got lucky on a Dwayne De Rosario free kick when a Columbus player headed the ball into his own net. Well deserved tie though. TFC goalie Stefan Frei left the game with a lower back injury after making a huge save. Greg Sutton came in and played well.

TERRIBLE game on Saturday!!! TFC did not look like the same team from the first 2 games. They lost 2-0 to the expansion Seattle Sounders team who I felt completely exposed Toronto's weaknesses. The defence on both goals were caught napping. I could not believe the amount of space that the Seattle strikers were given. Toronto lack some natural wingers which causes the middle of the field to be too congested. John Carver needs to tactically switch the lines in order to create more width going forward. TFC did have there chances towards the end but just couldn't capitalise on there opportunities. The stands at BMO were completely filled for the start of the game but after Toronto went down 2-0 in the first half many fans left. The weather was also a factor.

OK....so things aren't exactly going so great lately. TFC tied 1-1 on Saturday to FC Dallas, and they did not look particularly good. They were up 1-0 early in the game and had many chances to score, but could not finish which cost them the game. Dallas ended up with a late goal close to stoppages. This team seems to be getting worse. The style of play does not look good at all. You would think that after three years, the teams passing and positioning would start to improve, yet nothing has changed. It seems as though they can barely make a proper pass, everyone moves towards the ball and not the open space. Things need to change....and soon. Some proper central defenders would also help out. What has management been doing in the off season?

Well, another loss for the Reds last night. FC Dallas received it's first victory of the year with a 3-2 win in Dallas. Dallas opened the scoring and than went to a 2-0 lead thanks to a goal by Kenny Cooper. The game was tied 2-2 thanks to goals from De Rosario and Barrett (finally getting his first of the year). In the 84th minute FC Dallas was awarded a penalty kick after Marvel Wynn fouled inside the area. Kenny Cooper took the shot and scored his second of the game and 4th of the year. Next game is Wednesday night against Chivas USA and then Kansas City on Sunday afternoon. Both matches are at BMO Field.
