Mississauga Civic Centre

Mississauga Civic Centre seen from the south-east. Influenced by farmsteads which once occupied much of Mississauga,[7] the architecture is based on a "futuristic farm" (the clock tower is the windmill, the main building on the top-right corner is the farmhouse, the cylindrical council chamber is the silo, and the pentagonal building on the bottom left is the barn)

Mississauga - a distinctive image?

Mississauga has been trying to create a distinctive image for itself over the past few years. An international architectural design competition was held in 2006 for a 56-story condominium tower that is intended to be a landmark for the city named Absolute World.

Streetsville

The beginnings of Streetsville are interwoven with the history of its founder, Timothy Street. Street was born in 1778 in the American colonies to a British Loyalist family. At the age of 23, he moved with his family from New York to St. David’s, a settlement on the Niagara River in Upper Canada (now known as Ontario).

In 1818, the British made a second purchase of 648,000 acres (2,620 km2) of land from the indigenous Mississauga peoples.

Port Credit

Port Credit is found at the mouth of the Credit River on the north shore of Lake Ontario, within the southcentral area of the city of Mississauga. Port Credit's boundaries are the Canadian National Railway tracks (where the Lakeshore West GO trains run) to the north, Seneca Street and the western edge of the Adamson Estate to the east and Godfrey's Lane and the townhome complex located on the west side of Shawnmarr Road to the west.

Clarkson

Clarkson Village is a community in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The community is located in the south west corner of Mississauga, along the banks of Lake Ontario. It is bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, Oakville to the west, Erindale and Erin Mills to the north, and Lorne Park to the east.
